bringing people together through stories

Welcome to Restless Theatre CIC. We are a community of artists who use a playful blend of sound, visuals, movement and text to bring people together through stories. Together we create funny, poignant and heart-warming stories in which there is often an autobiographical element.

A Community Interest Company, we work in and with communities in the South West. Our productions, which tour nationally, are created and performed by theatre makers and actors based in the South West.

Fragments at Barnstaple TheatreFest

Based on autobiographical experiences Fragments is a bitter-sweet drama about losing a parent to Alzheimer’s and finding a way to remember her.  Between clearing their mother’s flat, and visits to the nursing home, Sarah is caught in a world of fragmented memories. As their mother slips between lucidity and confusion, lost stories emerge as they piece together their mother’s early life in Birmingham and North Devon.

The play feels like a plea to remember that those who now need our care were once articulate and eloquent; creating, thinking, making, caring, brave.
